Responsibilities will include wetland delineations, plant and habitat surveys, vegetation characterizations, special status species surveys, data collection & analysis, and report writing. Applicant is required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or closely related discipline and 1+ years of relevant experience in terrestrial and aquatic biological surveys. Proficiency in Ms-Word and Excel is must and experience in IPAD/Trimble hand-held GPS units and ArcPad is preferable.

Assignments are generally for 10-12 weeks over the summer. The applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed junior year pursuing Bachelors in Biology with 3.0/4.0 GPA or better. The applicant must be experience with working in molecular or cellular biology laboratory, preferably with nucleic acid based assays and must have basic skills in fluorescence microscopy and digital image handling.

The candidate should a B.Sc. degree in Biology, Botany, Marine Biology, Limnology, Microbiology, Bioengineering, Engineering or comparable discipline. Scientist, Algenol Biofuels. Algenol Biofuels is seeking Research Scientist in Algal physiology group perform research aimed at understanding and optimizing photosynthetic carbon fixation and ethanol production. The applicant is required is to have a PhD in Biology/Biochemistry/Phycology/Plant Biology/Oceanography or a similar discipline and familiarity/experience with general lab practices, lab safety rules, and advanced scientific equipment for the field. Industrial experience and or post-doctoral experience preferred but not essential. Research Associate/Technician, Mascoma. The Research Associate/Technician will join a team that is involved in improving bacteria and/or yeast for the production of ethanol. Activities include: anaerobic cell cultivation, small scale fermentation, strain storage, revival and testing. Activities may also include molecular biology, cloning, and transformation. Research topics include: microbial strain selection, adaptation, engineering, and physiology. This position will report to a Research Scientist in the Organism Development group. The selected individual must possess practical knowledge of techniques in microbiology and the design and execution of experiments. The individual should be familiar with basic microbiology techniques and cultivation of E. coli and/or yeast. Preference will be given to those with experience with anaerobic bacteria.
