Description We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed individual to support project management for GRID’s Third-party ownership model and through GRID’s Sub-Contractor Partnership Program (SPP) . In GRID’s Third-party ownership model, our organization partners with Sunrun and Spruce to offer a prepaid Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) or lease to low-income families. In addition, the position will support administration of the California Solar Initiative’s Single-family Affordable Solar Homes (SASH) Program and other major programs managed from our Headquarters office. This position will be focused primarily on GRID’s projects and operations in California, though there is opportunity to manage solar projects in offices in CO, NY/NJ, DC, and in other new markets. 


Primary responsibilities will include:
Manage a portfolio of solar projects located installed by both GRID Alternatives’ 10 regional offices and GRID Alternatives’ California network of 25 subcontracting companies. 

Work with GRID Alternatives’ regional offices’ outreach and construction teams on project details and milestones for projects installed using a Third-party ownership model. This includes maintaining close communication with regional office staff on project details, identifying and correcting issues, and providing ongoing training and support services. 

Work with our Third-party ownership partners to ensure all projects are completed expediently and coordinate with regional offices to resolve any issues that arise. 

Work directly with subcontractors on all aspects of the solar project - from the project bidding stage through project completion including design review and resolving installation issues. 

Track all project details within the portfolio including timelines, error rates and quality assurance elements.. 

Maintain sophisticated project databases with Salesforce; including data entry, generating reports, and analyzing project metrics. 

Perform a variety of administrative functions including fielding and responding to program-related inquiries, reviewing project documentation for completeness and accuracy, and sharing responsibilities with the department’s general administration duties. 

Train offices on new project requirements and process updates, including creating training materials and leading training workshops. 

Contribute to the continual evaluation and improvement of the department’s processes. 

Evaluate and train new sub-contractors. 

Help with the implementation of future third-party ownership partners and new program administration functions. 

Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

Required skills/experience:
Must be able to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities and demanding work loads.

Database management and analysis (Excel or other spreadsheet).

Desired skills:
Experience working with solar third-party ownership providers, specifically Sunrun or Spruce. 

Familiarity with PV-solar project design and installation. 

General understanding of PV-solar industry and California policy around energy efficiency and solar. 

Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM database software. 

Experience working with sub-contractors or outside vendors. 

Degree/Years of Work Experience:
University/College Degree or 5 years of related work experience.
