Description  Sentient Energy is looking for a Data Engineer, a full-time position on the Data Science and Analytics team. This team is responsible for characterizing, classifying and predicting the behavior of its customers’ distribution grids. The innovation and creativity with which we develop and implement utility solutions are among the distinctions that make Sentient Energy the leader in Distribution Network sensing and monitoring.LocationSentient Office in Burlingame, CAJob OpportunityThe prospective Data Engineer will help gather, organize, and visualize a wealth of waveform and event information as Sentient Energy grows from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of deployed sensors. 

Specific duties include: Developing scripts to gather waveform and event data from disparate sources across various databases and networks (typically on Linux systems)Writing tools to parse semi-structured grid event information from emails and other documentsConsolidating waveform and event data to expand our analytics databasesBuilding tools and creating visualizations to help us draw insights from this data.
