Imperial College London offers engineering degrees much like those found in the US, but they also offer unique interdisciplinary programs:

MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures

MSc in Environmental Technology

Additionally, though Imperial college does not directly offer a PhD in Energy Futures, they do provide opportunities in energy research through the Energy Futures Lab Centre for Doctoral Training.

Imperial students engage in activities outside the classroom to gain experience in their fields. Here are just a few of the opportunities available:

Students, alumni, and faculty take part in the Royal Automobile Club's Future Car Challenge 

The Department of Materials’ Mechanical Workshop provides approved students with the opportunity to produce basic parts.


Our Favorite Find: Students bringing electricity to rural Rwanda win IEEE ‘Change the World’ Competition

Engineering students at Imperial College London started the e.quinox project and built a kiosk in a Rwandan village that uses renewable energy to charge portable batteries, which are then used by families in the community that do not have electricity in their homes. The e.quinox project was awarded $10,000 dollars for their work. The find out more, read the full story.
