IT Support Intern (BS Computer Science):  Amyris is seeking a highly motivated support intern who has experience with Windows 7. The successful candidate will possess a keen desire for learning computing technology in a Windows enterprise environment, display a high level of customer service through verbal and written communication, and provide assistance to the Amyris IT team where needed. Responsibilities will include:
-Assisting the IT team in deploying Windows workstations and desk phones

Research Associate (BS/MS Biology, Micro-biology, biochemistry):  The research associate will be responsible for the operation and care of FACS instrumentation in the group. You will also help to develop new assays and applications. We are especially interested in applicants with an enthusiasm for instrument design. The research associate will operate modern FACS instruments, analyze data with computer programs, maintain and calibrate instruments, and develop improved assays, including novel labeling techniques and analytical methods. The application is required to have a one or more year hands-on experience with flow cytometers, experience handling biological samples and cell cultures, and enjoy working with non-traditional flow applications.

Mutagenesis Scientist (MS Biology, Micro-biology, biochemistry):  The Scientist for this position will have an advanced degree in genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field. A background in molecular genetics, genetic engineering, or microbial physiology and a proven record of research innovation is required. The successful candidate will take part in designing a mutagenesis and screening program for microbes for the industrial production of second-generation chemicals and biofuels. The job requires a comprehensive understanding of microbial genetics and metabolism, as well as expertise in recombinant DNA technologies. Industrial or post-doctoral experience a plus. The mutagenesis scientist will design, implement, and modify microbial metabolism for highly productive strains, develop assays, supervise experiments, interpret complex data sets, and prepare technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
